PHOENIX ECHOES
The New Haven Improvisers Collective presents an exploration through perpetual repercussions of music, art, and urban planning.
PHOENIX ECHOES

The New Haven Improvisers Collective presents a premiere of Phoenix Echoes, a site specific composition for improvisers.  The performance takes place at the site of the Phoenix Building which spent part of its storied history as a hub for artists of various genres, media, and temperaments.  Listen as the music unfolds in dialogues with the rhythms of the city, the shadows of the night, and the echoes of elm city art.  Hear the reverberations of Trane, Miles, Riley, Shepp, Stockhausen, Fripp, Butch Morris and countless others.  Expect some agreements, some arguments, and a search for a way forward.

This performance is part of the after hours program of the Arts and Ideas Festival and takes place immediately following Clarion Call, a New Orleans Trumpet Celebration on the New Haven Green.  The site is one block away from the green on Chapel Street.
